What you get

The full EqualWeb PDF Accessibility product, in Google Drive

A cloud connection using your own Google Cloud project and service account. Every document gets a 0-100 accessibility score against ~80 PDF/UA and WCAG rules, a detailed report with a permanent link, a legal-priority classification with a full audit trail - and one-click AI remediation that replaces the file in place, so nothing anyone linked, embedded or bookmarked ever breaks.

  • One query answers "which of our PDFs are exposed to the internet" - public sharing is the strongest legal-priority signal
  • Your project, your keys: you create the Google Cloud project and service account, and approve it in your own Admin Console - no third-party Google verification involved
  • Minimum-access option: attach the service account only to selected Shared Drives - "we see only the drives you added us to"
  • In-place replacement keeps file ID, sharing and links; the original is kept as a Drive version - restore is free; a private, searchable metadata stamp records status
Minimum access, maximum transparency

What we see - and what we never see

  • What we get

Access through a project and key that belong to YOU - with an option to limit to selected Shared Drives only

  • Who approves

Your Workspace admin, in your own Admin Console

  • What we never see

Nothing through any EqualWeb-owned key - there is none

Your files are never stored with EqualWeb - a document is processed in the remediation cloud and the result returns to Google Drive. Keys and credentials are stored encrypted (AES-256).

How it works

Scan. Score. Prioritize. Remediate in place.

  1. Scan

My Drive and Shared Drives across your Workspace - including instant detection of every publicly shared file. Office documents (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) are detected too, for accessible conversion.

  2. Score

Every document is checked against ~80 PDF/UA and WCAG rules and gets a 0-100 score plus a detailed, permanently-linked report.

  3. Prioritize

Documents are classified by signals from Google Drive itself: required for service, public, internal, or archive (pending your confirmation) - so you fix what matters first.

  4. Remediate

One click sends the document to EqualWeb's AI remediation - tagging, reading order, alt text, metadata - and the accessible file replaces the original in place. The original stays restorable.

FAQ

PDF accessibility in Google Drive - common questions

Who owns the keys in the Google Drive connection?
You do. You create the Google Cloud project and service account, and approve it in your own Admin Console. EqualWeb has no key of its own into your Workspace - maximum privacy by design.
Can we see which PDFs are publicly exposed?
Yes, instantly. The connection detects every file shared publicly - one query answers "which of our PDFs are exposed to the internet", which is also the strongest signal for legal prioritization.
What happens to links and sharing when a file is remediated?
Nothing breaks. In-place replacement keeps the same file ID, the same sharing settings and the same links - and the original is preserved as a Drive version you can restore for free.
