Voice in Browser

An AI voice agent visitors can just talk to

No phone call, no app. A visitor clicks your agent's face, speaks, and gets an answer in a natural voice, from your own content. They can interrupt, switch to typing, and leave their details when they want a follow-up.

$100 free for every EqualWeb customer: a pay-as-you-go UiriX agent with $100 in the wallet, which is about 50 million chat tokens, and no credit card.

What is an AI voice agent on a website?

An AI voice agent on a website is the spoken form of your chat agent: the visitor talks through the browser's microphone, the agent listens, answers out loud in real time and can be interrupted mid-sentence. It needs no phone number and no app, and it answers from the same knowledge base as the chat - your website and the documents you add.

How voice in the browser works

  1. The visitor clicks the agent's face on the launcher button and chooses to talk. The browser asks for permission to use the microphone.
  2. They speak, the agent listens and answers out loud, in real time. The visitor can interrupt it mid-sentence, as in a normal conversation.
  3. The answers come from your content - your website and the documents you add - in the voice and the language you chose.
  4. Typing is always one tap away. The same window offers chat, for a noisy room or a visitor who prefers to read.

Pick a voice, give it a face

Choose from more than 40 voices, each with a face and a short sample you can listen to before you decide - female or male, warm or crisp, calm or energetic. The face you pick appears on the launcher button on your site, so visitors know there is someone to talk to. You can change the voice at any time.

Why voice matters

One more way in: who voice helps

For a visitor who can read the page and type a question, voice is a convenience. For others it is the route that works:

Voice is not for everyone. A visitor who is deaf or hard of hearing, or who has a speech impairment, uses the chat in the same window, and every visitor can switch between the two at any point. The window itself was made accessible by EqualWeb's own accessibility team: a labelled launcher that opens a dialog, and keyboard focus that moves into the conversation and returns when it closes. The agent adds a route; the accessibility widget adjusts the page itself. They run side by side.

From a conversation to a lead

When a visitor is interested, the agent asks for a name and a phone number or an e-mail, and sends you the lead with a short summary of what they wanted. A visitor with a problem becomes a support ticket; a visitor who wants a call becomes a callback request. Every voice conversation is saved with a transcript and a summary in your dashboard.

Microphone and privacy

The microphone is used only after the visitor starts a voice conversation and allows it in the browser. Conversations belong to your account: they are stored with their transcripts in your dashboard and are never shared with other customers.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between voice in the browser and a phone agent?

Same agent, same knowledge, two doors. Voice in the browser runs through the widget on your website and needs no phone number; the phone agent needs a number on your account (a card on file). Visitors on your site get the first, callers get the second.

Does voice work on mobile?

Yes, in the mobile browser: the conversation window opens full screen on a phone, with the same voice and chat options.

Can visitors type instead of talking?

Yes. The same launcher offers chat and voice; visitors choose how they want to talk and can switch at any point.

Which languages does the agent speak?

17 languages, including Hebrew, English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic and Russian. You set the agent's language when you create it and can change it later.

Does the visitor need to install anything?

No. Voice runs in the browser through the same one-line widget as the chat; the browser only asks for permission to use the microphone.

Is voice in the browser an accessibility feature?

It is one more way in, not an accessibility fix for the page. Voice helps visitors who find reading or typing hard - blind and low-vision visitors, people with motor disabilities, dyslexia or a cognitive disability - and the chat in the same window serves visitors who cannot use voice. The agent's window was made accessible by EqualWeb's own accessibility team; making the rest of the page accessible is the accessibility widget's job.
