Magnify your text
Everything stays in your browser - nothing you type is sent anywhere.
What is a text magnifier?
A text magnifier enlarges written content so it can be read comfortably by people with low vision, presbyopia or reading fatigue - without enlarging the whole screen the way a system zoom does. Magnifying only the text keeps the layout stable and the context visible, which many users find far less disorienting than full-screen magnification.
The tool above magnifies any text you paste. On a real website, the same capability is delivered as a function of the EqualWeb accessibility widget: visitors switch on Text Magnifier and get an enlarged tooltip of any paragraph they hover or focus, like a virtual magnifying glass over the page.
Who text magnification helps
- People with low vision - the primary audience: enlargement is often the single adjustment that makes content readable.
- Older readers - presbyopia makes small type hard work; magnification removes the barrier without reading glasses.
- Anyone on small screens or dense pages - fine print, footnotes and terms become readable on demand.
Magnification relates directly to WCAG 1.4.4 Resize Text, which requires text to remain usable at 200% - and a magnifier function gives visitors that control even where the site's own typography is fixed.
Add a text magnifier to your website
With the EqualWeb widget installed (one line of code), every visitor gets the Text Magnifier function - along with font sizing, contrast modes, link highlighting and 30+ other functions - on every page of your site. It takes minutes on any platform: WordPress, Shopify, Wix, custom HTML and more.
Frequently asked questions
Is this text magnifier free?
Yes - paste any text and magnify it up to 10x, free, with no account. The text never leaves your browser.
How do I magnify text on my own website for visitors?
Install the EqualWeb accessibility widget (a single line of code). Its Text Magnifier function shows visitors an enlarged view of any text they hover or focus.
How is a text magnifier different from browser zoom?
Browser zoom enlarges the entire page, which forces horizontal scrolling and loses context. A text magnifier enlarges just the text being read, keeping the layout stable.
Does text magnification satisfy WCAG?
It supports WCAG 1.4.4 Resize Text from the visitor side. Full conformance still requires the page itself to meet the criteria - check any page free with the EqualWeb accessibility checker.
